    Well that I can not answer for the US but here in the UK its much more likely that generations are growing up with the metric system, to go full on and change everything to metric would cost £Billions.

    It would cost A LOT of $$$ to change over the system at this point.

    Well...actually, the United States doesn't use the exact Imperial system.  For example, a U.S. gallon is different than an Imperial gallon.  The reason the U.S. hasn't changed to metric, is, basically, that the American people don't generally like major changes.
