Above what temperature does a magnet lose its magnetism permanently?
I believe it is called the 'curie point', and is different depending on the metal. ex: Iron loses it's magnatism at 770 degrees celcius while cobolt loses its magnatism at 1130 degrees celcius.
According to Wikipedia, when the material reaches Curie Temperature. This temperature is different for each marerial . Iron 770 degrees, Cobalt 1130, Nickel 358, Iron Oxide 622.Material will lose it's magnetism at these temp.
