Yes, If you can imagine anything it is possible. There are stories and tales that documents the incidences of time travel. We too go back in time when we think about the past. With meditation people can develop their minds to travel in time. When the modern science can develop technologies that help attain high speeds equal or higher than the speed of light people can travel through time forward or backward.

Some time in the future I believe that it will be, there is already exploratory science being conducted to test the variability of light when exposed to different situations, which may lead to the manipulation of time. The conditions under which you do travel back in time are only relative to your perspective however, under Superstring Theory it states that infinite number of variations have and will occur so when you do travel back in time no matter what you would do it would not alter the present dimension.

I've read of how Nostradamus went forward in time to predict the end of the world and a lot of other events that have come true.

He apparently used the 'practices' used by ancient Egyptians to travel to the future.  Perhaps this could apply to going back to the past.

Some one I know recommended a 'past lives' course she wanted to do so much, I gave it a go but never saw anything.

Perhaps its an individual thing to be able to go back to the past or forward to the future.

It appears so tritrain, depending on far are we talking. People with alzheimers spend their waking moments walking the roads of their history.  Not the most pleasant way to time travel.

I became really lost thinking about a similar question. I came upon a conclusion that it is all an illusion. I can sense the now, but I perceive it as the past, since it is a recalled event of something that happened. Perception is reality or the moment of time experienced, yet sensually an individual is ahead of that moment. So, (just playing with a thought process here) to go back in time is in sense a normal fact of experiencing time.

I believe that anything the mind can think of is possible.  However, technology has to catch up before it actually happens.  Also look into astral travel.
