   Fear of what? There are many things to be 'fearful' of, some justifiably so others not. Fear of failure for instance is caused by the ego.

   Fear is caused by the unknown. If you get in a situation or a place for which you have no emotional, mental or even physical base or experience fear occurs. This is actually a defense mechanism our brains and bodies have to put us on high alert in an unknown situation.
