Have you ever participated in the Great Backyard Bird Count?
Every February, you can participate in collecting data about local birds under a program sponsored by Cornell. The GBBC is a national project that lets people identify and count birds in their areas. It's an easy and fun way to learn more about your local feathered friends.
I have participated in a backyard birdcount in the past. It was sponsored by Cornel University Cooperative extension. In my area, it is located in Sapsucker woods, upstate n.y. Also I have been on a few of the sponsored Audubon christmas bird counts, held by my local chapter.
