There is no such trait in psychology .The opposite of maniac is depression. There is maniac depressive psychosis in which maniac state alternates with depressive state of mind. and it is periodical it is also called bipolar
Hypomania is a mood state in which the person experiences elevated mood: giddiness, high energy, racing thoughts, decreased need for sleep, increased sex drive, urges to spend money, etc. However, it is a state, not a trait or a disposition. There's a distinction in terms of axis of diagnosis on the DSM with personality disorders being on Axis II while mood disorders are on Axis I. The closest related personality disorder in terms of symptoms is probably histrionic personality disorder. Those individuals tend to be "high-strung", often acting overdramatic and highly emotional. The sexual behaviors, irritability, high energy levels, and rash decisions are very similar to hypomanic symptoms.
