    How do you teach children to see the clock and find out what time it is??

    When they can count by 5's they can work out the minutes on the clock.

    Teach them, "what a Clock is" ... children have the required "imagination" to find out in due time, the Purpose behind the Clock's Tick, Tock, Tic, Tock ... including "seeing" the Clock, "Measuring" Time.

    I think it's easier to teach them now that most clocks are digital. Around three to four, teaching them the numbers 1-12 is a must.  Wouldn't worry about am and pm until they are in primary school. Glad we don't have to depend on sundials for telling time -- can you imagine the number of people who would not show due to the lack of sunshine? Great question.

    When i would teach the children about how to tell time we would make a game out of it.. and it taught them how to count. We started out counting by 1's and then 5's and so on.. Digital clocks are a lot easier but if they learn from a regular clock then they learn so much more...
