Why are pebbles on the beach more or less rounded?
Pebbles on the beach get rounded from rolling up and down the sand with the movements of the waves.
The waves are continually rolling them over one another, and making them knock off their corners against each other. The process goes on until they are more or less spherical, when they move with far less wear.
