I think California is the state that utilizes the most solar energy. They produce a lot of green technology, so the state itself uses it. I think there are five or six other states that use solar powered street lamps and other solar technology.
California is #1, New Jersey is #2 Both support solar through state incentives. A state like Hawaii should be using a lot of solar because their electric prices are the highest in the U.S., and high enough to make solar competitive. Florida and Arizona don't use as much solar as you'd expect with all their sunshine because electricity is relatively cheap in both states.
