    Scholastically, yes. I made almost all A's the entire freshman year. Socially, no way. Responsibly, yes.

    I'd say yes but I cheated in a sense. I went to college at age 25. I had worked in higher education for 5 years at that point as a financial aid officer. So I had witnessed first hand how college was.

    I think to some degree yes and no, I'd been in the country about 2 weeks and was facing a lot of culture shock when I stepped in to being on my own at a University, but overall I think I learned to adapt pretty quickly to my surroundings. I really enjoyed my freshman year and did well academically too, though socially I think I just coasted a little until sophomore year.

      Thanks HLKeeley, I've been thinking about writing a hub on my intercultural experiences and giving some tips for others who may be facing some of the same difficulties and humorous situations that I experienced.
