    Is the American flag not a sacred enough symbol to be made in the U.S.A. only?

    Some lawmakers want to keep the manufacturing of the American flag in the U.S.A.

    I think if our politicians wanted to be patriotic, they would pass legislation that actually helped people rather than making useless symbolic statements. Like something to help with the housing situation or unemployment.

    It would be nice if more things were manufactured here in the US. I'll pay the higher prices. I don't think there is anything sacred about our flag though. We're a republic, not a monrachy. Flags are just big ugly flags. We have to have one because we need something that says who we are without having to write the name of our county out. I enjoy flags, but I don't see why we need to make them out to be something bigger than they are. I trust in human ingenuity and reason, not in the sanctity of symbols.
