Do you teach for a public school? I am 60 years old planning to apply fto EPIK. Do you have advice?
I went back to school and finished my Bachelors in Sec Ed in 2010. I am not a certified teacher and am concerned about my chances of getting a job because of my age. I think it would be harder for the Private Schools. I have enjoyed reading your blogs about South Korea.
Firstly, thank you for reading my hubs :-).
If you are seriously considering this, then I recommend that you start your paperwork early. You do not need to be a certified teacher, but you will need a degree. A tefl or tesol certificate will also be worth you studying, as it will help you with how to teach non-native speakers and will also ensure higher earnings.
The paperwork you need is as follows:
Notarized police check with Apostille.
Notarized copy of degree with Apostille.
I think that you should give it a go. The training and support from Epik is amazing. I may actually see you there, as I'm applying again at the moment.
If you do decide to go ahead, feel free to contact me via one of the websites on my profile. Anymore questions, feel free to ask. Sorry for any bad formatting, wrote this from my mobile ;-)

I was involved in a forum discussing whether teachers should be held accountable for a students success. I started thinking about the possibilities of home schooling, but I don't have any information on the subject and I noticed there were no hubs on the topic. What do you know about it and what is...

I have decided to home school my daughter. We can't really afford private schools, and public schools have destroyed their curriculum with standardized tests. I am curious to see what you all think.

In my opinion, public school is a gargantuan waste of time.To keep it brief, however, I'll just mention a small point. The method teachers teach us to remember is so faulty and unpractical. They tell us to repeat repeat repeat and study study study. However, after much research, this isn't how the...

The average American teacher works 9 months a year, gets holidays off, receives a base salary, pension, full benefits and a job for life as a result of tenure. What you get, someone with a Masters Degree who on average teaches a class of students ranging from 30 to 50 students who span the...
