    Do you think that ants are intelligent?

    Ants can do many things surprisingly well. They live in a community with clear class division. They can adapt to any environmental niche. Ants can even wage wars as an army against another ant colony. They stores food for bad times. Do you think they have some kind of group intelligence?

    Ants are likely highly intelligent, especially for insects, for these reasons:
    1)Ants are highly social and have a hierarchy starting with a queen
    2)They are capable of building tiny "cities" complete with primitive ventilation systems
    3)Ants communicate with one another by chemical signals.
    4)Ants have been known to make rings around ant killer so their buddies won't get in it.

    Because of this evidence it is believed that ants are in fact highly intelligent organisms.

    Very intelligent!! It's amazing what they are capable of doing.  In some of my animal behavior course work you can't imagine the studies that have been done with ants, pretty amazing work!
