Do you feel that schools are doing enough for kids with peanut allergies?
I think in some cases they are doing to much. Why should my child not be allowed to have a peanut butter sandwich at school? Why should my child be told he can't have a healthy handful of almonds as a snack? I understand that the parents of children with allergies have to be careful. However I don't think other children should be restricted because of it.
Sure. And they should quit cutting the grass because kids are allergic. And draw the blinds because kids are allergic to the sun. And never mop the floors because kids are allergic to Pine Sol. While we are at it, let's get rid of teachers because kids are allergic to discipline and homework.
I think the responsibility rests with the parents and if the allergy is so severe that it can be life threatening, they need to be the ones that take precautions. We can't have everything that every child is allergic too ousted from the school. I think peeples has a very valid point.
