Gold has no biological role in the functioning of the human body, but does form the basis of some drugs used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (possibly toxic drugs - nice, huh?) . Even though these drugs are being developed, the pharmaceutical companies really have no idea how or why (or if) they work.
The answer would probably be one's teeth.
