When is the last time you heard of a genuine cure being discovered for...

a disease or medical condition? And by cure, I mean honest-to-the-gods cure, not a remedy or med that just alleviates symptoms. If you can think of one in the relatively recent past please name the disease or condition the cure was for. Thanks!

Two vaccines for HPV-16 and HPV-18 were developed in 2006 and 2007.  These viruses are responsible for the majority of cervical, anal and vaginal cancers as well as certain genital warts and some HPV induced oral cancers.

cam8510, I appreciate the info, but vaccines aren't quite the same as cures, which is what I am wondering about. Thanks anyway!

Generally speaking it's not (profitable) for companies to come up with an actual "cure". There's been no new vaccines developed.
Today the goal is to "manage" pain/illness and keep (customers) coming back for 30 day supplies. That's where the "real money" is!
I know it sounds cynical but it's true. Although I'm no conspiracy theorist I did find it interesting that the American government was able to recently cure those two people that had Ebola!
It makes you wonder what other cures we might be sitting on. smile

Per above post, vaccines for HPV were released in 2006.  I don't believe drug companies only produce drugs to manage symptoms.  They would be allowing any of their own family members to suffer with some of these conditions just to earn more money.

There are long lists of cures over the last 60 years that have been rejected by the AMA. They are protecting billion dollar drug companies. Just like they invented water powered cars, and unlimited free electricity by Nikola Tesla. It's blocked.

dashingscorpio, I don't think the fact greed runs rampant in the pharmaceutical industry is a conspiracy theory. You make excellent points.
