Under what circumstances can solid structural steel offer zero resistance to collapse.
On 9/11, World Trade Center building 7 collapsed in about 7 seconds, at 5:20 PM. For the first 8 floors, the building collapsed at perfect free fall.
Free fall means zero resistance. The only way known to me for perfect free fall to occur in a structural steel skyscraper is with controlled demolition.

I think there is a little something more we don't know about 9/11. One hubber made a valid point when he said that a plane crashing way up in the top of the building wouldn't have made it crumble. They had to have had help of some sort.
I'm not a conspiracy fan, but I'm convinced the 9/11 event was known by the government, they let it happen. It was the ultimate excuse to invade Iraq and control this part of the world for its oil reserve.
