Do you feel you are a disapointment to YOURSELF? What are your coping mechanisms?
This is a ques especially for older people. I'm not speaking about the common disappointments in ourselves we have when we've missed an appointment or performed less well than we expected on an exam or in a performance. I'm talking about global disappointment in yourself towards the end of your life when looking back. The obvious answer would be to forge ahead, but is there something else? Songwriter/singer Melanie wrote a humorous song called "Psychotherapy" with one line being "..when your analyst tells you that you really ARE inferior" How do we cope with our honest perceptions?
