Do you contend that American society, especially the corporate environment, has become more
predatory with those who are the most ruthless and cunning being the most successful?
Absolutely! Laws have been rewritten to benefit the rich; people obtained law degrees to circumvent laws that did not benefit them. Those who did not get caught breaking the laws benefited the most and VERY FEW of those who got caught were punished. Why? Because the most ruthless, cunning creatures - the lawyers - were already in charge. When lawyers decided corporations had a 'personhood,' we the people lost our standing. I base my answer on 40 years working for, by and with lawyers. I stayed on the fringes because I wasn't cunning enough to get in the middle, and not brave enough to get out altogether. But when I became a danger to them, the ruthless ones cut me out without a regret.
