What does it take to be a great leader?

Here's a question. To be a great military leader is it only important how many Battles you won or is there something else that makes you great, like for example having the confidence and dedication of your soldiers?
We often talk of great leaders, but what made then great? Was it that they got things done? or was it something else. Wilberforce never led an army and often worked alone. Washington led an army yet lost many battles. No one would deny them their place on any list of great leaders. What does it take to be a great leader?

I loved to answers questions and there in all things can be of a spiritual point
The greatest leader I know walked this earth was Jesus Christ . He was known as a leader in the since that he was a great Teacher, multitudes of people  followed him , many times he was not able to have a private moment of sleep. Yet people searched him out.
Notice what contribute to his greatness with people .Reference Bible Mt 20:28 Just as the Son of man came, not to be ministered to, but to minister and to give his soul a ransom in exchange for many.”
He served people !he was not making his daily routine about himself he was moved from the heart to feed, heal, undo death, remove bad sprit creature ,and above all these things he taught us the importance of having a relationship with the supreme being of the Universe. who is his Father as well as our own.
He was a great worker and still is.
Notice what he himself has said about the word in general !LEADER!
Reference Bible Mt 23:10 Neither be called ‘leaders,’ for YOURLeader is one, the Christ.
As a wonderful example of what a leader is about he gave it.

    And many wanted to follow!

So what can we learn .
A good leader is sacrificing, putting others before himself. Ministering as a teacher.
Here are the things he did in a overall view!

    Magadan Tiberias
Activity at the Sea of Galilee
(Also called Lake of Gennesaret and Sea of Tiberias)
1 Calms a storm from the boat
    2 Sends demons into swine
    3 Feeds 5,000 men
    4 Walks on sea
    5 Feeds 4,000 men
6 Traditional location of Sermon on the Mount

How could he feed that many if they had not followed him?
