What is the reasons behind this mini civil rights groups popping up everywhere?
I recently became natural and I am reading up more and more on black history books. The reason behind my reasons is self acceptance and curiosity. Is everyone doing it for the same reason?
Every social movement or craze is claiming it is a civil right, because this gives them more social legitimacy and theoretically more sympathy.
Whether Otherkin or men who think they are women because they wear a dress or group marriage advocates actually have a right to do these things AND demand total endorsement from others and legal protection to do it is a separate matter.
But doing this while saying it is a civil right does increase their odds of success in today's society.
