Psychology of World Travel?
Psychologically, why do people feel persuaded to travel to different countries? What is the true motive behind it? What are people looking for that they could not find specifically in their home country? I'll let you be the judge.
I travel to get a basis of comparison for understanding where I live, and to find out if there's somewhere out there that would suit me better. If you don't explore, you don't know.
There is a person in my life who is very timid, and who leads a dull, pointless and joyless existence because of her timidity. I want to be as unlike her as possible, so I take the opposite approach to life.
Well, it's relative to you, Gordon. Her life may be dull to you, but fulfilling to her. I get it though, you understand that where you live now isn't satisfactory. You crave more mental stimulation; more cultural shock, if you will. I admire that.
The way she talks I don't think her life is fulfilling to her at all. She doesn't strike me as happy.
