Regarding socioeconomic class, why is it THE MOST ATTRACTIVE, not necessarily THE MOST
INTELLIGENT/EDUCATED tend to advance from humble beginning into the upper middle & even upper classes? What PART does physical looks, attractiveness, & beauty/handsomeness play in one's advancement up the socioeconomic ranks from lower, working class, & lower middle class socioeconomic roots?
Unfortunately "Being physically attractive" can enable you to move into the upper eschelons of society. It goes way back. That is to primitive times where the mainstream heterosexual male believed choosing a physically attractive female (mate) would benefit both his status and gene pool increasing longevity. This way of thinking is still around and influencing some of us.
What also can now came along with this choosing of the attractive/handsomeness is the associated "halo" effect where the "attractive one" is therefore nicer, more intelligent, more gentile etc.. It isn't true but that cultural myth does still exist. Media is conservative and creates or maintains some of these old ways. Media could really do some ginormous good in the world if they didn't protect the establishment.
