Why most era/culture in human history men wear short hair and all era/culture women wear long hair?

Only few era in history where men wear long hair, the longest period where men wear long hair in the west, was during 17th century and usually the man is wearing a wig, China, Korea and Japan man wear long hair for the longest, starting from BC era to 17th century, but all tied their hair up in a nod and have it cover, to resemble the appearance of short hair. Ancient Sparta man wear long hair. But in most culture, wearing short hair is norm man hair style. Long hair have been norm female hair style, for all culture to ever exist, till late 20s century, women with short hair is seen as odd

Alexander the Great made his soldiers cut their beards off and hair short so that it could not be grabbed by those they fought and used to drag them into a sword or otherwise defeat them.
Women don't have to worry about how hair becomes a weapon against them, and instead find it can be used to improve their appearance.
