Is the point reward system the best way to manage an elementary classroom?
Only if they associate points with the eventual reward and appreciate the rewards.
I cannot answer in general but I have used a reward chart successfully with one of my children and my 4 year old granddaughter, coming home from school said her group got 100 points for staying really quiet and wanted to demonstrate how to be as quiet as a mouse. So I suppose a points reward system can be one tool in the teacher's armoury.
