This is kind of a horror story, Ravi. What an awful thing to do. To think this young, probably poor girls were used in the way is awful. I didn't know anyone could be immune to poison. This really is a fascinating piece of history.

It is an amazing story, Ravi. If did didn't exist, then someone had a vivid imagination.

Yes, Pamela. Interestingly all the ancient Greek historians at the time of Seleucus mention their existence. Still, texts about them are far, and few, and they are again mingled with fact, myth and fantasy to such an extent that the truth lies somewhere in between. So we never know whether they were a legend or real.

Ravi has created a very interesting article, whether or not the girls were immune to poison inside them. It’s always interesting to read about ancient cultures and wonder what life was like for the people who lived then. Thanks for sharing the article, Pamela.

    Wow Ravi!

How do you find these interesting stories?

I have never heard about these femme fatales.

How awful to take a poor girl abd give her poison just to train her to kill...
    If indeed she first survives.

Then unsuspecting men get trapped and lose their lives sinply by a kiss or making love to them.

    Shocking...interesting...great article.
