Do One Good Deed Anonymously

Hi actually I want to publish this as hub, but thought that why not to share with all hubbers so here it is:
“Heed to the saying ‘Treat others as you would like to be treated’”

The UN statistics say 1% of the global war funding can be used to feed every living person on planet. And according to economist John Fuller, there is enough wealth in the world for each of its six billion people to be millionaires! You have access to the basic necessities is enough to put you in the upper half of the world population. We crib at our dinner table about the food and never think about the African countries that are at war against each other for decades leaving them poor to even afford food. We complain when our parents don’t allow us to do something – never thinking of countries still struggling for their freedom.

    Points to be considered:

    - You are among the blessed – so don’t you feel you should share a part of this good fortune with others?

    - When you start to share, you will be giving to people who need more than you and create value in the world.

    - Your good deed can be for anyone around you and it must bring value to the life of the person you’re making to.

    - The beauty of doing something anonymously will make you realize that true greatness is unsung.

    - God is the greatest giver. He has given us the world, this life yet, he’s never told you to behave in a certain way since he has given all this.

    - It‘s without expectations. So when you give, God is working through you, secretly. You are his channel. This deed will be the noblest form of you.

    Conclusion:

When you do a good deed, your internal reaction is to take credit for it but when you do the deed anonymously; your ego is not boosted. Hence if you’ve done something good, only you need to know.

I think it doesn't matter if you do it anonymously or not. What's important is the result.
And I don't see what 'God' has to do with it. I don't believe in God, so when I do something for others, it's me doing it. No god involved.

Yes this is only matter of opinions. But we don't want to argue on God is present or not. So doing good things will always feel your inner voice as we did something special. Then no need to think about God or other. smile

But I don't feel I have done anything special ! Most of the times I realised I did, because other people tell me I have done so.

I do feel blessed to be making the kind of income I do and donate money to various charities and when I can my time also.
Someone helped when I needed it most and without that I wouldn't have the life I have today, so I'm all about giving and helping when possible smile

I prefer anonymous (not with some wisdom or religious way). I just want to help anonymous, that's it. anonymous has issues sometimes as when it comes to do some things personally you've to come out of shadows, not good many times.

I quite agree with tantrum and skyfire.
Ego is enough rewarded while staying anonymous.
Furthermore, I think one (at least) good reason to begin sharing wealth right now at state level is because if you dont, misery will come and tear it from you the hard way.

I don't mind sharing what I've been able to gain.  I just want to share on my terms and when I want.  Don't tell me what I have to share.  Americans are the most generous people on earth as long as they're not forced.

I don't think this depend on the nationality or other aspects, I think this depends on what is the mentality of that person.

You're probably right.  However, legislated charity never works and never will.  Ask anything of me and if I can I'll assist or give, demand it from me and I'll tell you where you can go.

Have to agree on that press conference one. Here in this part of world, if you help anyone by showing off then politician and press will find you somehow. No trouble with press but if any politician catches you with donation or any help. Then chances are they'll ask for funding for their campaigns, religious agendas and spare cash to spend on their minions.

At an individual level , people easily share what they have.
I've seen enough examples of this among poor people to be ashamed of my own selfishness...
But states only share if they are forced to for whatever political, strategic reasons they only know...
What I'm saying is that sharing is painless while it remains volontary.
And there might be a time in a close future where it might be forced hard.
    And that would be dreadful.

Yes you are right, I am from India and I observed than peoples from poor and middle class families are always ready to each other, but rich peoples don't care about them.

Actually rich people in india do care about poor. Strategy here is to keep poor people poor and maintain them somehow, this is how business here works.

When I perform a good deed it's never for any kind of credit. It's always from the heart and I'm never looking for something in return, so whether it's anonymous or not, doesn't make a difference. I give what I can and do what I can.

I don't really consider helping or donating (money, food, even your time) a good deed. It's a part of daily life - commom courtesy, human kindness and helping those you can when given the opportunity to do so.

But one think I thought that if we did any good thing in front of the world then it will arise some ego in our thoughts, and this is not good for us. smile

An ego is a totally personal thing. It's a shame that some need to feed theirs -  and pronounce their accomplishments to the world. I agree it is no good.

I do not take pride in what I do or can do for others. Why should I? Aren't we all supposed to help each other, all the time and not just randomly - that's the way I was raised smile

I do take pride in my own accomplishments over personal challenges I overcome. That's what makes me feel good and I don't need to tell anyone or broadcast it. I 'm not looking for anyone's kudos or appreciation to make me feel better - it's sad that others do. Hence feeding their ego.
