I am not sure if you noticed this. Looking back at 2008, I saw a minor indication of the financial crisis brewing. TV shows like "The Biggest Loser". Things like Christmas in July. Had mixed emotions lately because movie Valentines was showing in July before the market slipped. Now TV is promoting Melissa McCarthy and full figure actresses, does this mean the recovery now is for the long haul?
Well, there is a theory that the length of skirts being worn is an indication of how the stock market is fairing. As they seem to be all over the place - skirt hems and the stock market I guess that must prove the theory

well, we all know that media plays a role in people's consumption behavior. consider the situation that there is one giant manufacturing company. it is driven by the consumption (personal or industrial). the have trouble meeting orders. parts are not arriving because supplier decided not to supply because they still have payables. they cannot pay because inventory from last season were still piling. sales were below target. hence the slim down and early christmas.
now, i guess that the trend is gradually reversed. an easy way to look at the economy is the consumption behavior. because that is the easiest to slash and the easiest to influence.

It's less than 50% of the usual and it continues to decline every week. I just checked my status and it's worse than the last week. There are no signs of improvements in traffic. What about you guys?
