The Real Idol

Let me state, upfront, that I am not an American Idol groupie. I watch the show each year, only sporadically, and towards the last few weeks. And, in talking to others, I have found that there are two types of American Idol viewers. There are the viewers who like to watch the "freaks, weirdos and want-to-be's" who have no talent what-so-ever, appear in front of the judges, most likely, in hopes of seeing if their "out takes" will make it to the commercials, or "teasers" for the new season's show. The more untalented and outrageous they are almost guarantees they will get some television "footage" being "spurned" by Simon Cowell. I am not one of those viewers. In fact, that part of it, for me, is boring and a waste of time. For me, I normally tune in towards the last six weeks where I can see the genuinely talented performers being showcased. I have been watching American Idol this way for the past four years. With that said, I tuned in this season around the time that Smokey Robinson was their mentor. That is the night I fell in love with ADAM LAMBERT. Granted, Adam wore some "guyliner" some nights and black nail polish, but that was part of his charm. Let me just say this here and now, Adam Lambert is the most gifted and talented 27 year old that I have ever heard perform! I knew from that night that he was IT. Not just the next AMERICAN IDOL but the next WORLD ICON. I am talking ICON here like:

  • ELVIS PRESLEY
  • THE BEATLES
  • MARILYN MONROE
  • JIMMY HENDRIX
  • CELINE DION
  • ELTON JOHN
  • THE BEE GEES
  • BILLY JOEL

Not only does Adam Lambert look like a young Elvis Presley, he is ten times more talented. I recently saw a documentary on "Elvis" and, did you know that he was "banned" in the south back then for being sexually immoral, swaying his hips in an immoral way. The Bible belt would have nothing to do with it and banned his "evil" music from being played on the radio.

There is so much similarity to Adam's being gay and wearing make-up and his not winning AMERICAN IDOL. I could hardly contain myself. I am a Christian woman and even I know that the Lord is the only judge. This American Idol show is a talent contest people! Not a forum where we voice our displeasure with a person's sexual preferences!! If you missed the season, please take one moment to follow this link:

Please don't misunderstand me. Chris Allen is a 23 year old, adorable kid who plays the piano and guitar and is talented. However, he would be more suitable for a stint at Disneyland or Disneyworld or even a lounge act in Vegas. He cannot even hold a candle to Adam Lambert's talent. That is why, if you missed the season, I hope you will watch the short clips that I am including here.

NOW YOU BE THE JUDGE?! Was there something just a little bit off here?

I know that Adam Lambert does not need the "title". He is going to be "the next big thing". However, I am one who cannot stand injustice of any kind. I am so glad that HubPages gives me the forum to say what I think and what I believe to be true.

If you were able to watch this season of American Idol, please, I hope that you will take the time to comment. And, even if you did not get to watch, please comment. Thank you for letting me sound off a bit.

By the way, watch out for THE NEXT BIG THING......ADAM LAMBERT....GUYLINER AND ALL!!
