Face Book Social Networking

Technology has come a long way, especially the Internet. Face Book has over a million users. Why is Face Book so valuable? It's not the advertising. It is the personal information that Face Book has acquired and the socializing. Google wanted to buy Face Book for over a billion dollars, and Co-founder Mark Zuckerberg turned down the offer. Google is the largest search engine but if so many people are logged on to Face Book they don't have to leave their face Book to do a search. You can do a search through your Face book. This is why Google wanted to buy Face Book. Face Book will become it's own search engine. The only thing is Face Book has too much information and with that comes controlling it and power.

When you sign up for a Face Book account they do require certain personal information. You can have your settings customized, so only your friends can see this information. The more friends you add, which you may think is harmless right?? Think again, wrong. The more people you add the more your information is exposed. This will cause a chain reaction. This means the more your information is exposed on the Internet. Do you have pictures posted? Your birthday listed ? Your home address? Did you know that Face book can one day sell off your information? You could be setting yourself up for harm to come your way. The police, CIA, and FBI use Face book also to catch criminals.

This is a perfect place for Internet predators, thieves that could actually come track you down, or even break into your home or steal your identity. I know a friend who posted pictures of the inside of her home and would post when she was going on vacation. When you make a post , it goes on the Face Book wall which your friends see. If you don't know the person, don't accept them as a friend. You may think no big deal it's just the internet. There is a lot of crime going on and the net is a big place for it. Think before you post and accept friends on Face Book that you do really know. I have a friend who posted she was going to a karaoke place. Little did she know a man she didn't really know came up to her. He said I am so glad you came. She asked him, do I know you? He said were friends on face Book. That really creeped her out. He read her post and followed her up to the karaoke place. She immediately deleted him the next day.

I wanted to write about this topic because many people are too trusting and don't realize or think about it in the way I have described. These things can happen. You want to protect your identity. God Bless and be careful and safe!

Please feel free to leave any comments.

Sincerely,

Sandy
