On television, he hosts E! News and, of course, American Idol.
On April 20, 2005, Ryan Seacrest was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In January 2006, he signed a three-year, $21 million deal with U.S. cable channel E! to host and produce various programs, including E! News and its red carpet awards show coverages (E!'s signature piece of original programming).
In July 2009, Ryan Seacrest signed a three- year deal with CKX, parent of "Idol" production company 19 Entertainment, for $45 million (that's $15 million a year, tripling his then current salary), making him the highest paid reality television host to date.
During all the changes being made on American Idol Season 10, the only position safe was that of Ryan Seacrest, the host of American Idol. He has a winning personality and sincerely cares for the contestants. He is always there to give the contestants moral support. The contestants and their families truly love him.
And so do the audience and the viewers.
Ryan Seacrest is undeniably a big part of American Idol and its continued success. He co-hosted American Idol season 1 with Brian Dunkleman, who quit Idol after the season 1. From season 2 to present, Ryan Seacrest has been the host of American Idol.
