COMEDIES // ROMANTIC COMEDIES // THRILLERS // DRAMAS // ACTION FILMS // SCI-FI FILMS // HORROR FILMS
This film is one of the best family movies I have ever seen. It's about a grumpy old man who is being forced to move by the city so they can put a new building in the place of his house. He escapes the demolition and the possibility of living in an old folks home by tying hundreds of balloons to his roof. He steers the house toward his favorite place in the world, but someone decided to come along unexpectedly.
This is a great movie for all ages because there are very adult themes. The contrast between the young boy, Russell, and the old man is an interesting and entertaining dynamic to watch unfold. We all search for paradise and this film sparks our imagination in doing so.
I loved this film after simply watching the first ten minutes. I know you will too.

Steve Carrel stars in this surprisingly hilarious and touching film. He plays a mad scientist that wants to get more fame for his villainous crimes. In order to get into his arch nemesis' home, he adopts three girls from an orphanage to pretend to sell him cookies.
The film is going to be a new classic because of its ability to entertain the whole family. The jokes are hilarious and the cute characters will keep you smiling throughout the film. Like Up, this film is somewhat of a tear-jerker at parts, so be sure to have the tissues close by.
Steve Carrel's accent in this film is one of the funniest things I've heard in a while. My husband didn't believe me when I told him it was Carrel. I know you will enjoy this movie, so tell me what you think of it in the comments section.

This film is also a tear-jerker. Andy is all grown up in this sequel and is going off to college. His mom decides that it's best for him to give all of his old toys to a daycare center, where kids will love them forever. Some of the toys are excited about the change and some are not--for good reasons too.
This film is fun for all ages because the child and adult content as well as the overall storyline. The film is as much of an action film as it is a kids movie. The art is spectacular and definitely satisfies the audience that has followed this journey throughout the years.
If you like good movies and want to watch with the whole family gathered around, this one's perfect.
This film is full of stars like Owen Wilson as the speedy race car, Lightning McQueen. The car is an award-winning racer that is drunk on fame. On a trip to one of the biggest races of the year, he accidentally gets thrown off course and finds himself in a small town on Route 66.
This touching story is one for all ages because it is humorous, has exciting images and also has stars as the voices of the many cars. If you like cars, this is a great movie for your family because you can be entertained by the jokes just as much as they are.

This film is one of Miyazaki's most successful and interesting films. It's about a girl, Chihiro, that is moving to a new town and is scared of all of the changes. On their way to the new house, her father gets lost and they stop in front of an abandoned building. They walk behind and into an old town across an empty creek and begin to feast on all of the food. Chihiro tries to stop her parents, but by the time she gets their attention, they have transformed into pigs and she is forced to live among the spirits.
This film is an amazing allegory for consumption and society. The animation hints at this by showing the eager parents in their brand new car and credit cards. Chihiro is taught bravery and what is good, which makes this film perfect to watch with the whole family.
This film was originally done in Japanese, but Disney bought the rights and made an English version so the viewer isn't distracted by off-synced dialogue. I know you'll love this film as it is my favorite on this list.
This movie is one that has always been a favorite of mine because of the non-stop action and the Peter Pan references. Staring Dustin Hoffman and Robin Williams, this movie is about Peter Pan when he has grown older and has children. Hook kidnaps them and Peter is forced to go back to Never Never Land to save them.
I love this film because it is an interesting take on the story of Peter Pan. He is now a lawyer who is happily married to Wendy's granddaughter. This story is fun for the whole family because it has everything that makes a good movie: action, adventure, imagination and love.
I hope you enjoy this classic if you haven't seen it before, or enjoy it again on that rainy day.
