Disneynature's Chimpanzee (2012) Documentary Film

In true form, Disneynature amazed us just before Earth Day on April 20, 2012, with the release of the nature documentary Chimpanzee.

Chimpanzee tells the story of Oscar, whose family is attacked by another band of chimps, who finds himself orphaned until an unexpected ally takes him in. The goal of this documentary film is to help us understand this species, which is considered to be exceptionally intelligent.

Chimpanzee was shot over a period of three years in the jungles of the Ivory Coast and Uganda in Africa. It is a joint production of the Disney company and the Jane Goodall Institute who worked together in an effort to support chimpanzees.

As is traditional with the release of the Disneynature movies, Disney made a donation for every person that saw the film at the movie theatre during opening week.
