Shame the Olympic Opening Ceremony was Sensored

It's a real shame the moving piece by Akram Khan was edited out of the NBC coverage of the Olympic opening ceremony. Abide with Me was sung in accompaniment by Emeli Sande. The BBC called it a reflection on the events of 7/7 2005. NBC said "Our program is tailored for the U.S. television audience". What is it about a moving tribute "in memory of friends and family who could not be here tonight" that a U.S. television audience would struggle with?

Anyway, it doesn't seem to be on YouTube either, so if anyone wants to see what they missed, it's here.
