I know young girls are in love with the Twilight Saga. I never got into the movies because I wasn't a fan of Bella, and I didn't care for the mushy love story.
Now, I LOVE the Underworld Series! In my mind, vampires are not supposed to be sparkly and sweet, but morbid and kinda gross. Plus, I love Kate Beckinsale in those movies. She's gorgeous!
Do you like vampires? What is your favorite vampire movie?
Not really, however, I did enjoy the Twilight saga, but then again, who didn't right? hehe
Vampires are monsters. Young girls were't meant to fall in love with monsters.
I think the Twilight series and similar ones are just plain wrong.
I don't mind a horror movie as long as the monsters are shown for what they are. I even like Resident Evil somewhat.
But I cringe every time I think of people (especially Christians and their teenagers) watching Twilight.
lol it's a work of FICTION. Who cares how it's portrayed if people like it? Unlike your biblical mythology, everybody KNOWS that these stories aren't real. That's what makes them stories. Christians boycotting or rallying against stories like Twilight or Harry Potter is just ridiculous. It's a lot more moral than a lot of the bible stories you like to mention.
Did I give the impression that I didn't know Twilight's a work of fiction?
Then let me correct that right now----I know Twilight's a work of fiction.
I wouldn't go that far.
You did label my belief in God as mythology, plus made a couple of other insulting remarks. But hey I'm not in the mood to fight right now. So yeah, it's okay.
how is disagreeing with your position while expressing my own insulting to you?
Hmm... could it be because you used the word "ridiculous" and compared the morality of the Bible to a vampire-obsessed-girl movie?
But I'm not mad about it. I just was pointing that out.
and I'm entitled to my opinion, just like you are entitled to yours. How are opinions insulting? I would wager that you have a lot of opinions (from what I've seen from you on other forums) about Islam, Paganism, atheists, etc. Are your opinions insulting to those others, or are they just opinions?
The only thing I said was ridiculous was christians boycotting these works of fiction for no reason. Not the religion itself.
The harry potter books have no sex, and teach valuable lessons. the twilight series was written by a mormon, and discusses the issue of premarital sex (how you should not have it) as well as other principles. The bible talks about rape, murder, slaughter, the ordered killing of the unborn, rage, jealousy, prescriptions for causing a miscarriage, putting to death people that disagree with you, cursing a group of children and causing them to be eaten by bears (sent by god) and more.
There is a reason for boycotting those movies like Harry Potter.
I haven't boycotted them, but if others want to, then more power to them!
Harry Potter?--------witchcraft. Totally against the Bible. Yes, even "harmless" witchcraft. Because there is no such thing as a "harmless" warlock or "white witch". Witchcraft, even if perceived as harmless by the "witch" and the targeted individual, is manipulation at the core. I know some Christians, even, who can't seem to grasp the underlying seriousness of shows like that.
Sure, it can be watched by some people just for the entertainment value of it; but not impressionable children or adults who don't know how to process its effect on their psyche.
As far as the Bible's events, there was always a reason for the things that happened, if God made it happen.
There are, however, some things that people in the Bible did that were their own choices. So...just because something is recorded there doesn't mean the act itself was always right.
witchcraft. You mean saying something and having something happen as a result? Kind of like miracles? that kind of witchcraft?
Or are you the type who wants to tie all witches to stakes to roast cause the bible says so?
I can't understand any good reason for an all-powerful, all-knowing and all-loving god to command the slaughter of infants and unborn children, even going so far as to command the army to rip the women's pregnant bellies open. that sounds like a wonderfully moral god to me.
I like the Underworld movies too, especially Kraven. The story is really well scripted covered the past, present and also setting up the future. I also like John Carpenter's Vampires as I found it quite gripping.
I also like Underworld movie series too but I also very like Abraham Lincoln, the story of this movie is very interesting.
I'm not the biggest fan of the Twilight series, but I do love Underworld. I'm always excited when there's a new film in the works.
Nope, I'm not into vampires. But I AM crazy about zombie shows......like the 'Walking Dead'!!
To find a good vampire movie you'll have to go as far back as the 30s with Bela Lugosi's 'Dracula', and then Murnau's 'Nosferatu'. I haven't found any vampire film since then to be especially interesting. It's just blood and sex and blahh. Boring. 'Twilight' was horribly boring nonsense, but I didn't think there was much to "ruin" in the first place
Stephenie Meyers has a new movie coming out called "The Host" has anyone seen it yet? And if so, what'd ya think? Dying to know.
Anyone here see Django Unchained? If so, what did you think of it? I am going to check it out when it comes out on dvd. Also, The Great Gatsby is coming to theaters this summer, anyone going to check that one out? What upcoming movies are you all looking forward to seeing and why?

Okay, with the whole franchise reaching it's end soon in 2012, I want to know your thoughts on this franchise? Explain the phenomenon that is Twilight to me, and tell me exactly why you think it'll either go down in cinematic history as one of the greatest love stories told....OR..you can...

In this modern age in which many are exposed solely to Twilight's bastardization of a vampire, I think we could benefit in exploring some of the movies that made the genre interesting way back when (and even today). So what are some of the great vampire movies of all time?

Ok, here's the deal. The story's fine.... blah blah blah. Girl falls in love with vampire, werewolf falls in love with girl, forbidden love blah blah blah. My husband loves this sh!t. My problem is, I'm a goth girl from way back. And I am seriously disgusted with the animal eating, feelings-having,...

I wonder why vampires seem to be such a popular writing subject now. I am really surprised at how many teens and young adults seem to just love anything about vampires.
