According to rumors online, allegedly there was going to be a Space Jam 2 starring LeBron James.  However, representatives at LeBron's camp have publicly debunked that rumor, and said it's NOT true.  Therefore, there is no official space jam 2 movie in the works as far as we know.  Anyways, let's speculate for a minute.  Do you think there should be a space jam 2 starring LeBron James in place of Michael Jordan?

Or if you'd rather see a space jam 2 with another basketball player, then who would you like to see?  Or do you think it's just a stupid idea to make a sequel to it in general?  what are your thoughts?

Heck no. I'm not interested in seeing another Space Jam movie, let alone with LeBron James in it. I think they shouldn't make any sequel. Just let the first one be.

lol  fair enough.  I doubt we'll be seeing a "Space Jam 2" if you want me to be honest, but it's surprising to see a reputable source like Deadline report on it, as they're usually very accurate about things.

I think in all honesty, it was probably just some preliminary talks between the Warner Bros. corporate executives, who were probably spit balling ideas on how to expand their animation division when it comes to movies now that they have an established franchise on their hands with "The Lego Movie."  It wouldn't surprise me if one executive brought up how commercially successful space jam was, and maybe some inside source that deadline has with WB might've leaked the story; even though all it may be is just talk at the moment.  It wouldn't surprise me if Warner Bros. is considering the possibility.  I mean the movie was a giant hit at the box office, and King James would be a very good candidate to replace jordan considering that he's the new king of the nba these days.  However, I doubt it though.

LeBron already has too much on his plate as it is, so I doubt he'll have time to make a movie.  But then again, we're talking about the same guy who did say during his last free agency that he wants to become a global superstar, and making a blockbuster film would help that.

My biggest concerns about making a space jam 2 would be where the hell do you take the story?  I mean the last i checked, the monstars ended up giving back the nba players their talent back, and ended up living with the looney tunes on earth.  Are the monstars suddenly going to want to be villains again because they feel neglected by the Looney tunes all these years?

Plus, where the hell have the monstars been all these years?  Or is danny devito's character going to bring back more minions from moron mountain to challenge the toons to a rematch? or will they introduce new villains to challenge them to a basketball game?   If you ask me,the only way i can see this working is if they just rehash everything they did in the first movie, but that kind of worries me because the first one didn't even have that great of a story to begin with.

Also, at the risk of offending other looney tune fans, when was the last time you even heard or seen the looney tunes in ANYTHING?   the last i checked, the only thing you see them in is usually in that new Looney Tunes show on cartoon network that's gotten mixed reactions from fans, and that's basically about it as far as i know.  for the past couple of decades, it seems like the looney tunes have died down in popularity, so im not exactly sure how much weight their names can attract to a space jam 2.  but then again, you can easily say that about the muppets, and that was a huge hit at the box office, so maybe ill be wrong if there is a space jam 2.  i don't know.
