This is for all those TV/Movie fanatics. Do you love Once Upon A Time? Are you one of the Whovians? Do you tease Arthur relentlessly like Merlin? Do you own a Book of Shadows like the Charmed Ones? Or are you constantly arguing about who is better for Bella: Edward or Jacob? Well this is the discussion thread for you! So come on in and start a riveting conversation about your favorites!

At one time my favorite was Maud. Of course that shows a bit more about my age than I care to show and makes this very awkward.

*blinks owlishly* Maud? Care to give me a brief summary on it, because the name is not ringing any bells at the moment.

K, heres the scoop. Maud was played by Dorthy (one of the women in the golden girls). She gets into to typical sitcom mayhem and thus makes for a lengthy series of seasons.

That is right you are talking about the Maud Squad! It was a spin off from the Golden Girls where they all adopt aliases and go undercover to complete top secret missions. It was too bad it was cancelled even before they shot the pilot.

no, "and then theres maud." Lol they were on tv for years. Reruns still show.
The Golden Girls spin off that stuck was Golden Palace. Theme song the same and all.

Oh that Maud! I thought you were talking about the other one. I still think it was a shame that the Maud Squad got cancelled before they shot the pilot because it would of been a great show. Plus Betty White totally rocked the afro!

*blinks* Yeah still don't know it. Wasn't much into sitcoms. I usually stick to the scifi/fantasy genre as a general rule. Sitcoms and soaps put me to sleep. Zzzzzzz......

Doctor Who is such an amazing series, it's smart and well thought out and sad but such a great show.

Alright! descent got us started so now it's my turn! Current show that I am completely addicted to (as evidence of the fan fiction currently being done on Hub Pages) is BBC's Sherlock! Within 12 minutes of watching the first episode, I was hooked. I fell in love with this series and have been trying desperately to get my mother to watch it. She refuses to on the grounds that everything I have suggested for her to watch, she had gotten addicted to herself. XD

Sherlock is the 21st Century version of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes books. It was a brilliant idea to place these iconic characters into a Modern setting. Seeing Sherlock tackle cases by typing away at a laptop or accessing the web from his mobile is a stroke of genius. Then add in Dr. John Watson, former military doctor having returned home from serving in Afghanistan.

Then to add a whole new twist when we discover that Mary, John's new wife, was a former assassin and she was being blackmailed by an owner of a newspaper chain who possessed an ability called The Vault, which is similar to Sherlock's Mind Palace.

Okay, I started rambling there a bit. So sorry about that. *smiles sheepishly*

I wrote about Sherlock in my Netflix hub... it is the best.
I just finished season 2 of House of Cards... it was a lot less tame than season 1. yikes
I started watching the Kevin Bacon series called The Following, but it was basically just a show about stabbing. If stabbing is a big interest for you, you'll like that show. I would have really liked it if there were even just a *little less stabbing. Right now I'm just watching an Idiot Abroad basically 'cause I've run out of anything else to watch. Plus I quit smoking so it's this or cookies.

*chuckles* I recommend Charmed, Angel, Supernatural (but only if you do not have a weak stomach because stuff gets crazy there, but if you stick with it you get to meet a really hot angel named Castiel), Merlin, Torchwood (again use caution when watching, this show shows the darker side of the Doctor Who series), Once Upon A Time, Firefly, Star Trek (all of them minus the two newest movies, what a darn shame), Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, The Avengers, and there are several anime series you can watch as well like Blood+, The Legend of the Legendary Heroes (i know it is a long title, but it is actually worth watching, I totally fell in love with it), Heaven's Lost Property, Chobits, Sekirei, and the list could on forever. Oddly enough, they recently added Pokemon: Indigo League and Pokemon Black&White, including the two individual movies Pokemon Black and Pokemon White (which are pretty much the same movie, but slightly different because of which Legendary Pokemon Ash gets help from. Personally, I suggest watching Pokemon Black, Ash gets help from Reshiram rather than Zekrom). *chuckles sheepishly* I guess I watch too much television.

I guess the odds against you being over 25 aren't very high are they?

I like Star Trek, but not all the pretend Star Treks... not the Generation Something or the Something 9 or whatever all those series were called. I liked all the movies too. Dr. Who was pretty interesting, though I didn't really watch it... I just caught bits and pieces of it when my son watched it. I like to laugh so I love New Girl. No Anime, just real live ppl, but it's hilarious. smile

Star Trek (Kirk), Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Enterprise. Doctor Who will either make you laugh your butt off or leave you gaping. If you like comedy then watch Craig Ferguson: I'm Here To Help and Jeff Dunham: Arguing With Myself and Jeff Dunham: Spark of Insanity. You will laugh so hard that your sides will hurt. I speak from personal experience.

I saw the Ferguson one. Ive always enjoyed him. Read his book, though I can't remember now what it was called. I think the thing that sealed the deal with all those TV sequels to the star trek series was Levar Burton in the 1980 slatted glasses. I just couldn't do it.

*blinks* What you mean his visor? He doesn't always have that. He eventually gets his eyes repaired so he doesn't wear the visor any more. Evidence is in Star Trek: First Contact and later Star Trek: Nemesis.

No offense taken. *grins* I am a bit of a Trekkie, but I favor Voyager and Enterprise a little more than TNG and the original. I can't stand DS9 though they did have a really cute doctor on there, but it wasn't enough to get me hooked. Voyager is the only with a female captain and Enterprise was just awesome. It was so less futuristic and more down in the dirt, battle for survival kind of thing. There was emotion in it, lots of different fighting, and then how everyone pulls together to get things done. Yeah, Enterprise is definitely my favorite. As for the newest movies, I was like sweet! It was definitely fun to see how things changed because of some accidental time travel. I can't wait for the third one! Taking int account that Spock did not die in the second one (sorry for the spoilers) but how are they going to fly that one, I wonder. It was called the Search for Spock. So exciting!

If anyone has been paying attention then they would know that episode 12 of Season 3 of Once Upon A Time has aired and holy cow, it was awesome! So all you Storybrooke fans best go find a good site to stream from and catch up on what you have missed, because I am bursting at the seams to talk about the latest episode of this magical series!

One of my favorite lines from Doctor Who is 'Tell me, Doctor, what do you know of the Weeping Angels?'. That line has given me goose bumps every time because I remembered what happened in Season 3 with Martha in the episode called Blink. To bring them back in Flesh and Stone and The Time of Angels, now that was scary. Let's not forget the episode called the The Angels Take Manhattan. They had baby statues called cherubs and the Statue of Liberty was actually a Weeping Angel, holy cow!

My husband and I are currently broke, broke, broke...so we watch lots of television.  Some of our current favorites are, in no particular order:

    Sleepy Hollow (Fox)
The Blacklist (James Spader is BRILLIANT!) (NBC)
    Intelligence (CBS)
    Justified (FX)
    Game of Thrones (HBO)
    Black Sails (STARZ)
    The Red Road (IFC)
    The Following (CBS)

Lots of sex in the HBO and STARZ series, also a good deal of violence.  The Following is one of my husband's favorites, but there is a lot of graphic violence and can be disturbing to sensitive souls.

Some of our past favorites include:

    Supernatural
    Lost
    Human Target (canceled sad )
    Monk
    House
    Firefly

Some comedies that we love are:

    Modern Family
    The Middle
    The Big Bang Theory

    smile Enjoy!

Firefly!!! I love Firefly, but I will tell you something ironic. I did not know about Firefly until after I had watched Serenity and it said based on the show and characters of the Firefly series. I was like 'Huh? What the heck is Firefly?' so I went and checked it out on Netflix and fell in love with it. I so pissed of that it didn't even have a completed season! I was like WTF this is a great show! Why in the world would you cancel it?!
