Reality TV Shows are not Reality

Is it me or do some people get totally addicted to reality television?  They feel they are really friends or knowledgeable about the characters life as if they were their best friend. So much so that people have physically attacked reality television celebrities for someone they witnessed on a show.  Is is me or do some people have blurred lines when it comes to separating television entertainment (staged) from reality and everyday life.

Some of us are intelligent to recognize it for what it is...............soap opera's. You remember Dallas, The Young and the Restless, As the World Turns?  Those shows have now transitioned themselves into reality television fake world.  Sometimes when people discuss the participants you want to ask them if they put just as much time into reading or educational (mind exercising) programming?  Just as you are what you eat, you are what you digest in your brain.  Want drama in your life then keep filling your time with drama. If you want intelligence then watch public broadcasting, history channel, or biography channels.  If you want to understand laws, crime/criminal mystery, and how science can identify amazing things then watch CSI or Investigative Discovery.  If you want to stay informed of the world of politics watch the news, msn, or cnn.

Do you think people believe they are living the lives of the reality television stars?  Do people believe they can stumble into fame and wealth based on the promotion of certain reality shows?
