Do you mean western music, like music created in the USA?

If you're talking about westernised music, then yes in several countries in North, South and West Africa there is music being made that sound western or modern like rock, soul and rap in various languages.

There is also music that has African roots but would still be considered modern like Mariam Mkeba in South Africa and Salif Keeta in Mali or Yousou Ndore in Senegal, he did a song with Peter Gabriel a long time ago so he's more like 90s music.

Yes...you'll hear all the big hits from years past if you simply visit the more populated areas.  Songs like "Run Through The Jungle", "Tusk", "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place, "You Can't Roller Skate In A Buffalo Herd," "Land Of A Thousand Dances", "The Watusi", "It Came Out Of The Sky", Tiger Rag, and last but not least, "Baby Elephant Walk".  Hope this helps.
