Can anyone think of any ways to make it easier for musicians from small towns to build an audience??
advertise! advertise! advertise! advertise! i managed a couple music venues in louisville and that my dear is truly the key. any kind 'll do. word of mouth. flyers on all the cars at UofL. get yourself out there any crazy memorable way you can. pass out small flyers (credit card size) people dont like things the have to fold up and shove in wallet. small card (don't have to b laminated) just something w/dates and venues. call any FREEBEES. Leo will work w/you and the venue. or you tell the venues manager you would like to do something w/them on their advertising. im tellin you. it's the only way people will know you. put you in our face.
hope that helped. if you need me for any pep talks before show time. just write back. haha jk
You could try www.dir-act.com It´s an online platform for artists.
Profile yourself and be found by bookers.
