What's your favorite Star Wars movie?

You've got 6 films from the Star Wars saga to choose from. Which one was your favorite?

I, like most people I know, prefer The Empire Strikes Back.  Lucas didn't direct it, and I think that's why it is the best of the bunch.  It is dark, yet opens in the snow and has the climax in Cloud City.  The contrast of story vs setting, coupled with the middle, inner struggles of Luke, make for a great film.  Of course there is that "reveal" at the end.  Bonus, because it introduced us to John Williams', "The Imperial March."

A New Hope is where it's at friends. Destroying the Death Star? Come on, that is one of the best scenes in movie history, not to mention one of the most parodied.

I personally favor the prequels because of their spectacular visuals. They are what got me interested in costume design, concept art and the art of filmmaking. However, the originals are superior for their acting, directing, scripts and story.

My favorite prequel is Revenge of the Sith, and my favorite original film is The Empire Strikes Back. But if I had to choose just one, I would have to say Revenge of the Sith. It is a fantastic climax, trying all the other films together.

MY favorite Star Wars movie is "Episode II: Revenge of the Sith". The answer to that question was so hard, because I had to choose between Episode II and Episode V.
    Nice one smile

Empire Strikes Back. Great film and you get to see Luke Skywalker becoming a Jedi. And its the only one George Lucas didnt direct which is a plus. Great writer, just dont think he is the best behind the camera.

I would have to choose Return of The Jedi, Episode 6. It is the one that made the biggest impression on me as a kid and is part of my childhood. The prequels are really good, but Return of The Jedi has it all including drama, action, and humor. There wasn't much humor in the prequels. And really you have to love any movie where furry little teddy bears can win a battle with deadly Stormtroopers.

The Empire Strikes Back. Probably because Han Solo was my favorite character and he had better scenes in this one.

Revenge of the Sith because it answered so many questions that were previously unanswered that started with a New Hope. We (Star Wars fans, particularly from the original releases back in the 1970s) and everyone else for that fact now know why there are basically no Jedi left, and what became of the Jedi Order; how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader, and more of the events that lead him down that dark path; how the Stormtroopers became so evil and went to the 'dark side', and other explanations to previous mysteries from the proceeding five installments.
