Is the character Sheldon Cooper, from the TV show The Big Bang Theory, autistic?
I don't mean to sound mean or anything...I am aware of the characteristics of an autistic person.
No, I think some people think that he might display some symptoms of aspergers, but the writers have never stated anything explicitly.
I doubt that he's autistic. I always just interpreted him as socially awkward and a bit of a butthole lol
My daughter has high functioning autism. Her doctor told me during the diagnosis meeting that Sheldon from BBT is indeed autistic. He has Asperger's Syndrome. We were discussing the various 'symptoms' of HFA and AS.
Sheldon had to be taught how to properly act in various social situations. For example his desire to always give a warm beverage when someone is sad and even if they say no he does it anyways. Knows to hug a sad person but barely hugs that person as he doesn't like touching others.
