    Eddie Murphy is still funny, but in a watered down way.  I would not necessarily call him goofy, but he has certainly lost his edge.

    Thanks for the replies! I do think he has definitely lost his edge from his younger years, cursing aside. I guess I think he's become more goofy in my eyes because now I picture him as a cartoon character more than an actor. I guess I just miss him in Beverly Hills Cop, Trading Places and even his Raw and Delirious stand-up movies.

    There's nothing wrong with going for the younger market, but Eddie Murphy doesn't have to choose movies which are so bad. I'm sure that if he did choose a good script (he hasn't in the past ten years, maybe except Shrek), he could be funny again but it just hasn't happened for him.

    I'm sure anybody could see that Norbit was a bad idea even before it got off the ground. Poor guy.

    My Dad says ever since he had that "thing" with the Spice Girl he hasn't been the same.
