What movies interest you?
As a Christian with a strong faith I find it interesting that there are many secular movies that I am drawn to. Personally, I'm a sci-fi tragic (think Star Wars and The Matrix) but I love a good drama or unique action film too. Recently I've seen Courageous, a Christian movie which I thoroughly enjoyed. So, fellow hubbers, I'm interested to know what movies interest you and why?
Well, as a guy, I do love me some good old action movies with stuff blowin' up. But as a story teller myself, I do tend to be drawn quite heavily to the speculative fiction stories (SciFi and Fantasy). They're great ways to tell a "what if...?" type story and you can let your imagination run free. They also allow you to put out a message you feel is important in such a way that it doesn't feel ham-fisted. Star Trek did that all the time. In the 60's, they were able to get away with shows that dealt with racism, war and equality by saying, hey, it's 300 years in the future and on another planet, and the censors let it slip through. Speculative fiction allows us to take a step away from the world we know in order to see it from a different perspective, and as a storyteller, that's very appealing.
I love the "Love Comes Softly" series by Janette Oke. I also enjoy the Roger and Hammerstiens musicals, "Oklahoma, Carosel, Sound of Music, State Fair, and the King and I. Those are my personal favorites.
I also like Anne of Green Gables..........and some good westerns!
Romantic films, sci-fi, action, and comedy. Those are the best ones. I always enjoy those areas of films.
