I'm kind of torn on this question. It depends what you mean by adult I guess.

At first whim, I'd be pressed to say no. But also, I'm not a parent. When I was a kid, no more than 8 or 9, my dad took me to see action movies a lot. I turned out fine. If you consider what I am fine that is.

In the end, you have to do what feels most comfortable and right with you.

I'm with Mr. Aungst--a bit torn, depending on definition.

If it is a shoot-em-up, gore-filled movie, such as that awful flick "Cliffhanger" from several years back..I'd say definitely not.  Kids don't need to be exposed to that kind of violence--it desensitizes them to the concept.

On the other hand, I have no problem with tastefully done love scenes.  I continue to feel that society is far too prudish in this respect, and all of the so-called "sex related crimes" are a direct result of unresolved curiosity and being made to feel 'bad' or 'ashamed' of natural things.

Even when my kids were young, I always said that I'd far rather have them witness people making love than shooting each other up.
