At a Court in Ireland today a Garda (Police officer)told the court that a now 20 year old woman was raped 57 times by 22 different adult men when she was 13 years old, a number of the men have now been successfully prosecuted.
The courts heard that the girl had full sex 57 times with 22 adult men when she was 13 and when she was still playing with a friend’s Barbie-doll and pulling its hair.
Those prosecuted have been sentenced to two and three years in jail, some may not go to prison, others have not been prosecuted.
Echoes of the Belgium fiasco where a prominent official was involved with a child sex slave ring and who conveniently 'escaped' while in detention huh !! ?
by the sound of your note she did not give evidence I pray this was the case- it is like reliving the attacks for the victim
Sadly, I have a worse story. You're not going to believe this.
Here in sleepy little Tasmania we recently has a case where a 12 year old girl was raped by over 100 men who responded to an advertisement advertising an "18 year old new girl in town".
The advertisement was placed by a friend of the family, who cooked up the plan to make some money with THE GIRL'S MOTHER.
This is an EPIC FAIL by the social welfare authorities, who were monitoring the care of the child.
Oh, and the fee was $100 with a condom, $150 without.
Allegedly, one of the girls clients was a local political identity.
I don't know what's worse - the actions of the mother, or the fact that over 100 men in this smallish city took advantage of this.
No doubt when they get to court their defence will be "I was told she was 18".
Yeah. Right.
Makes my blood boil.

What's new????
That kind of shit has been happening for thousands of years.
What would you all like us women to do about it? Show us something we don't know or haven't heard before.
That kind of shit, happens every day, every 3 seconds of that day, and all over the world. Tell us women something we don't already know.
The only part of this story that would have been news worthy, is if the men were shot and hung for their crimes. But you'll never see that one.
The only think women should do to avoid these things is to dress decently, behave like a human being and not like a sex symbol, and avoid free dating with whoever she may like. What is dating? Why is dating? Have they no work at all? Think otherwise. Think of your people, Think of your leaders. Think of your country. Think of God. And think of civilised manking as a whole.
I am sick to death of hearing about how rape is somehow the victim's fault. I was 12 years old and assulted by four boys in the bathroom of the foster home I was living in. The only thing I did wrong was not to lock the bathroom door behind me. I didn't invite them in. I didn't even know they were in the house. Where is it written? What stone is it carved in? Whoever told men it was OK to rape women because of how they dress???? So why not have men to take responsibility for themselves, have them practice some self-control, and teach them to "BEHAVE DECENTLY" instead of rehashing the same old crap that women should "dress decently."
Rape has nothing to do with how someone dresses. Rape is about control and power over someone else. Rape is used for torture, it is used for revenge, it is used to instill fear, it is used to control and dominate... very little about the act of rape has to do with actual sex.
I wish you love and healing. I know that these things can make you strong, but also make you seem hardened. Hopefully this is a timeframe where men are beginning to understand that there are consequenses for the women they think are there to be used and manipulated.
Ive recently understood how the court system doesnt help these situations, with the mens energy aimed at defending themselves from prison, if it ever even gets to the police.. and thus the purposeful degrading of the female ..... Maybe it really is about how the men in our culture and time are taught to get a bit rather than to develop relationships, understand their own sexuality and sexual drives.
The woman is not to blame (((()))
She was a 13 year old girl still playing with dolls, for Pete's sake.
And you think she brought this on herself by what she wore?
It is men like you who allow other predator men to get away with crap like this.
Those men should be shot in a public square for what they did.
Veno you should look at yourself and ask yourself how you have no compassion, empathy, or understanding for that 13-year-old girl that was raped and by men older than her. And ask yourself why the men who did the raping has no responsibility and why you are blaming the victim. You belong in the 7th century.
Clearly this 13 year old was asking for it. I bet that she was playing with a naked Barbie doll.
The only sane thing to do would be to send her to a convent and let 22 men go home to their families and children....
and of course launch a lawsuit again Mattel for allowing the sale of such provocative dolls in the first place!
Shame on you Mattel.. SHAME!!!
How DARE you insult idiots and pigs!?!?!
What's wrong with you people today!?!?
If I am a pig and an idiot, I belong to your category till now I was human. Now on with you.
I never plead legitimacy for the rapists. In our law, the raped woman can even kill the rapist when it happens. Then there are more laws, courts, police and prisons. But in my country, the decency of women prevents such public rapes to a limit. But it happens here too. No one is spared, if the victim is ready go to the police and court. The quantum of rapes in western society if more due to the social-type-behaviour of women. It is coming to India slowly.
i disagree with you..if women mingle with man or wear skirts or such things that doesnot give license to man to rape them..onus must shift from woman to man for rape..i wont rape any woman even if i find her wearing nothing..it is upbringing which matters more that how woman behave , what they wear and such things...also your point is invalid..in India crime against woman occur every half an hour and it is same as western countries..
No means no. Period. End of story. As for age, it should be ingrained in a man's mind that a child should not be seen as sexually available-EVER. By child I am reffering to anyone under the region's legally defined age of reason which is usually 18. And for clothing, you cannot possibly think that a man was driven to force himself on a girl because he was too physically attracted to her to stop himself. I was in a pair of jeans (not skin tight) and a standard fit t-shirt (not v-neck or low cut) and the only skin I showed was my face, neck, and arms below my elbows. My rapist was not concerned with what I was wearing but in showing me that he could take me despite my repeatedly turning him down. My case was clear-cut and had solid evidence to prove his guilt and lead to his conviction. The only thing I did wrong was to misjudge his character and his fear of the judicial system. I can never stress enough how it is people like you that cause victims to not report their attack and failing to see their attacker brought to justice makes the healing process more difficult than it already is.
@chaotic chica..
hey what do you mean by people like me..i am with you ..i am against having onus of rape on woman..why can a woman be blamed for it..it is man who is to be blamed...i infact want severe punishment than 7 years in my country..such man should be made to pay for what they do..
Pisean~I wasn't refferencing you but that ignorant man you replied to. I hit reply under his but it still posted directly under you! I appreciated your comments. Thank you!
Ok, you are not an idiot.
However, you are the unfortunate product of a society that believes as you do and taught you to think as you do.
Whether you can understand it or not, your conditioning is wrong and needs discouragement and condemnation.
There is no excuse for unwanted or illegal sexual advances. Men, not being the brighter sex in general, can easily misinterpret, but can learn to recognize their error before harm is done. Attitudes such as yours get in the way of that learning - that is why some have been so harsh in their responses.
You cannot help what molded you, but you need to rise above it. You are tragically wrong and need to learn better.
The 'quantum of rapes' has more to do with the fact that people refuse to acknowledge the basic human rights that we are all born with Among these, is the right for a child not to be raped by 22 men.
This is not an eastern or a western thing. It is part of the all too slow evolution of humanity worldwide to get to the point where we collectively no longer try to justify such vulgarity, inhumanity, cruelty and savagery.. no matter what the excuse.. especially when such attacks are directed at the most vulnerable.
If you re-read the posts here, you will see that I never called you a pig or an idiot. Those who have read my past posts know that I would have used much harsher descriptive words (or pics… I love to upload pics) to describe the archaic mentality of someone who tries to 'explain' the actions of such rapists by arguing that victims should share some responsibility for attacks because of her behaviors or dress.
Western women are raped in India frequently. Indian women, too.
Unfortunately, as you say, if the woman is ready to go to police...
This is a non-issue because of wide spread police corruption.
no one insulted idiots or pigs - just stated an opinion is all
Hello
Are you living on the same planet that we do?
I put forward the diametrically opposite view. Even if a girl walks around naked, it is none of your business to go and rape her.
Look at it this way. Say, your sis has been walking around naked or may be you had inadvertently come upon her when she was naked in her room, would you jump on her and rape her?
Your logic says it is the human body which makes you rape, so it should not matter whether it is your sister or some stranger
I think it is important that all these matters are aired in public - its too easy to dismiss them
Agreed. Hushing things up leads to more tragedy, more victimization, and more evil.
Out of curiosity, did this occur "at the laundries?"
These stories are so hard to hear about. My heart instantly sinks and I hate how I always cry and get upset. Yes, this s**t does happen every day and technically it is nothing new. But in today's 'modern' society, it is still hard to bear. It's still shocking that people do not know better, that policing of such matters is not enforced more strictly, that people STILL turn a blind eye. It is awful news and I abhor it!! It should be aired, though. Public awareness is the only way authority figures are ever going to get the guts to do something. If more of the general public were to make a fuss and a scene and an annoying outcry over these matters, then wealthy, perverted, over-priveledged scumbags wouldn't be able to pay off those meant to incriminate them!
Jeff - your comments are greatly appreciated - indeed - unless their is open and honest discussion about these matters then they will continue to happen
the persons that did this ruined a childs life.words escape me when all of them are caught they should never be released its unthinkable how that poor child feels.mind you a good hanging might not go amiss
Islam justice may be a bit put-off for others but here is a fit case for that kind of punishment.
Cut the thing off and feed it to the dogs. The perpetrator of this act would not even be able to take a leak like you and I do.
They marry young girls off here before they even get in their teens just for the money.... Couple of cases recently here in saudi of girls not even 10 years old who are married to old men who want to be divorced!
Also massive amount of sexual abuse and rape of house maids and the like, but if they complain to the police they will likely get more of the same... I hear so many stories.... The punishment in an islamic state seems to only apply to the people that live there not the workers, they are not real people to some of the arabs and are treated worse than animals.....
For me the sentences sound inadequate though I haven't read the details. If those that are sentenced to three years will probably only serve a little over a year. Personally I would send them to arctic and tell them to walk home!
An interesting mix of comments - it is alos interesting the views from different countries
Those that commit these crimes should be punished with a fair sentence. Those that hand down unfair sentences should be counseled and the case heard again. I doubt this will happen though. And, what is fair? I see this sort of thing (on varying degrees) almost daily in the newspaper. I am not going to incite vigilante violence in a public forum from a personal computer but one day I might just crack. It is disgusting and the ones that say nothing and condone this behavior through a poor judicial system, they deserve a punishment too. Sometimes I feel sick by the fact I do not act myself and just sit outside the court room in waiting.
No one will support raping of a child. Why not it be taken to police or court ? Because everyone is content with talking about it, the child has to experience that. The child's guardians, their neighbours, etc are to be blamed for that.

Millions of girls and women in the United States and throughout the world are raped. Oftentimes, the victim does not receive sympathy and is often thought as being somewhat the initiator. Girls and women who are raped often have their characters questioned. The...
