I think we will never get that whistling tune out of our heads. It is burned in our brains, what were some of your memorable moments?
I loved it when he had his quiet moments with Opie. Teaching him right from wrong in such a calm loving voice.

When he had been telling aunt B. for years that he loved her pickles! She decided to make a few hundred to enter into the state fair and he and Barney had to eat them all so her feelings wouldn't be hurt !!!! It was a crack up classic moment!!!

What is your most memorable childhood book?Mine was a book called "Carbonella" about a mysterious black cat who helps out some poor kids during the summer holidays and then just as mysteriously vanishes again. I loved this story and read it loads of times.
