Why do people listen to pop music when there is a whole world of musical genres to be heard?
Because it is POPular............................................................
Maybe I shouldn't answer this question, seeing as I am the biggest music stinge I have ever known. Pop music is light and superficial which seems to be the reason people like it. I have never heard a pop song on the radio that wasn't about either dancing all night, or having sex. It always has the same four chords that repeat throughout the song, and the electric drum set which is always loud and in your face; this makes it easy to jump up and down to (which apparently also passes as dancing in today's culture). All in all, pop music is just the go-to genre when you feel like showing how loose and care free you are. I hope you read this whole thing in an exasperated tone.
