In the spirit of the inevitable resolutions, use only song titles to give some New Year's advice.
In the spirit of the New Year and the inevitable resolution, post your advice or thoughts on self-improvement, positive changes, etc. One ceveat: the advice must be worded using only song titles (please cite the artist).
For example, advice to a heartbroken woman: Jolene (Dolly Parton), open your heart (Madonna). More than a woman (Aaliyah), you are (Lionel Richie) my everything (98 Degrees). You're beautiful (James Blunt). You can (David Archuleta) try and love again (the Eagles).
How about "Take It Easy" by the Eagles. I'm just referring to the title. It seems people are so intense these day, everything's so important and urgent. We need to slow down. When I'm late for work, which isn't often, I always stop and get a cup of coffee and just sit for a couple of minutes. Hey, I'm late anyway, right? I think we should pace ourselves in this life. I jokingly say at work, "Hurry up and live! There are babies waiting to be born!"
(I wanna) Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young (and leave a beautiful memory) ~ wrotten by Joe Allison, recorded by Faron Young, 1955
I wasn't familiar with Faron Young...or at least I didn't think so. I Googled him and after hearing "Hello, Walls" I knew who you were talking about. I listened to "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young" too...had never heard that one. Pretty cool. Thanks!
Always glad to introduce young people to the classics.
