If you saw your picture while perusing the web site 'People of WalMart', what would you do?

I am ashamed to admit this, but I have often wondered how I would feel in that situation.  I sometimes check the site just to make sure I am not on it.  I suppose I would be embarrassed, but it would depend on why I was on there and what kind of comments viewers made.

I certainly hope to never make it on the site, although I have a friend that purposely dresses in terrible outfits hoping someday she will see her photo displayed.  So far, she has had no luck.  I suppose we all have different dreams in life.

This made me laugh so hard, Jeannie. I'm at an age where I'm just not sure if I care ... but I do make sure I have on clean, intact undies before I go anywhere outside the house!

I would laugh. Then I would feel self-concious. Then I would laugh more.

I think most of us have days that we are worthy of being on there. I would hope we can all take the time to laugh at ourselves.

I would laugh...and know that they were lucky to catch me in a tacky moment...I would probably even brag about it... smile

Can they post a photo of you without a "model release?"  I didn't think they could do that.  Thankfully, there is no WaMart where I live.

Anyone can post pretty much any photo. The posting may not be "legal", but legality does not prevent it from happening.

I don't think "model" is the best word for the stars of People of Walmart, lol.  Have you checked out the site?

I think I would be embarrassed and pretty mad at myself too for getting caught in such an unattractive light.

Maggie, I wonder what some of those folks see when they look in the mirror. Self esteem is a great thing ... unless it blinds you!

My friend's niece is a loyal reader and had the "honor" of appearing on the site.  Supposedly she was very proud of the whole affair and framed the screenshot to hang in her bathroom. I think the photog caught her on a weird day when she had to go to the 24/7 Walmart late at night for emergency supplies, and she happened to be wearing something she normally wouldn't wear out in public.I guess since it was so late she thought no one would pay her any mind.  They made some rather unflattering comments about her butt and thighs, but she just thought the whole thing was hilarious.

Come to think of it, it's possible that she staged the whole thing and had a friend take the photo to submit.  Who knows, lol.

They always blur the faces, so if you were on the site, you could always deny it and say it's someone else with a similar body shape.
